Hello everyone!!
Yesterday i was talking to friend and she told that she had a very bad new to tell...she was really nervous, and then suddenly she started to cry....I tried to calm her down, but it was impossible...She was in shock.
After a few minutes, she could speak again and i ask her what the problem was...
She answered: I am pregnant.
After hearing that,i didnt know what to say!! It was a very strange situation. I wanted to congratulate her, but her face looked so sad, that i realized that wasn't a good idea.
For her, the worst problem of all was that she didn't know how to tell this new to her parents. I really understand her position because i know her parents!! They are extremly conservative and religious. I wouldn't dare to tell them that i am pregnant if i were her daughter...I feel sorry for her...
My friend is sure that if she tells her parents that she is going to have a baby, they will ask her to leave the house immediately!!
But, come on!!! She is already 23 years old!! She is an adult and she has the right to decide if she wants to have  baby!! I mean, my friend has already studied a professional career (actually she is a very good designer!!) and she works hard to ear her own money.
Her parents believe that if a woman wants to have a baby, she must be married with a good man, and stay at hoem to rise the children. I think the are completely mad!! Times have changed, the world is different now!! Women have the right to decide when to have a baby and how to rise them!
Anyway, My friend is now in a huge trouble because she doesn't want to marry her boyfriend. The only help that i could give her is a place to stay (there is an extra room at home!) so i told her that she could stay with all the time she need while she plans waht to do with her life. I really want to help her in this difficult time!!!

If Ihad enough money........................

Hello friends!!
Nowadays, every activity that you want to do depends on the amount of money that you have. You have to pay for everythig!!!...That' s very frustrating because i would like to do lots of different things but unfortunatelly i don't have enough money...it's a pity!!
In spite of all...i still have dreams and imagination!!
If i were rich an i had enough money to travel everywhere, i would go to... Thailand!!
why?? Well, i think that it would be very interesting to visit Thailand because it seems to be an exotic country and very different from Chile. I don't know so much about this place, but i have seen many pictures and it looks very nice.
I friend of mine went there, and she told me that Thailand is the most beautiful country she had ever seen!!
Another reason why I would go to Thaildan is because it's an asian country so its culture must be quite different from ours. When i travel to other countries the activity that i most enjoy doing is just to look at the people, their clothes and their way of speaking... I love to see how different they could be from us
Of course, like every tourist, i would like to go sightseeing some traditional places of each city and i would try the typical thai food unless..... it is extremly hot!!
If could stay in Thailand for a long time (for example for 3 or 4 months)  i would like to work  as a waitress because it is a good way of earning some money to live, but also it is funny way of  meeting a lot of people.
I hope one day i could go to Thailand and make my dream come true!!

A Strange Coincidence

Hello everyone!!
Today i'm going to tell you about a funny and strange story that happened to me last friday...
Everything started when i was on my way to university by bike, as i always do. I was quite late, so i was going the faster as i could, because i didn't want to miss my sociology class.
On the way to university i have to cross a very narrow bridge, which is very dangerous because the cars pass by very close to me. Of course i always try to take care of myself specially when i 'm crossing that bridge, but that friday i wasn't lucky at all!!
Suddenly, a car that wass passing by very close to me hit me and i fell off my bike...After that i felt a huge pain on my right leg and i started to cry and ask for help. The woman who was driving the car came to see me and when we look  each other i realised that she was my aunt Ximena!!!! She was so worried about me!!! (actually i think that she was worse than me, Her face was very pale and she felt guilty about the accident)  When she helped me to stand up we noticed that my leg wasn't so bad and that i had only a little wound. Fortunately my bike also was in good condition. =)
Finally, we started to laugh about the accident and she invited me an enormous ice cream in my favourite place, El Emporio de la Rosa. She was very kind to me and after that she took home.

The only advice i can give you is: If you are going to ride a bike, ALWAYS WEAR A HELMET...you never know what can happen on your way!!!

A new and strange term

We all know that this year has been very uncommon, specially for the students. The year is almost ending,  but our second term has just begun!! The atmosphere at the faculty is quite strange because, even though the summer is coming and everyday is sunny, we have to study a lot and put all our energies to do our best at university. December has already started and the weather is becoming hotter (and of course there is no conditioning air at the classroom...), which makes it difficult to concentrate during the class. I wish we could find a solution for this situation because is very uncomfortable...
Despite all the difficulties we have to tackle this term, i am very interested on the subjects i' ve taken. My favourites subjects are Historia Social de Chile, Funcionalismo and Evolución. I think they are fascinating because they have differents approaches and perspectives to understand what the human is. In fact, that is one of the reasons why i have chosen to study anthropology. It seems to me that, somehow,  this discipline allow us to understand ourselves. I hope not to be dissapointed!
